Seeds of Fortune Inc. recently hosted its annual Women of Color Creating Wealth Summit and Seed to Bloom Awards, bringing together a vibrant community of ambitious and talented individuals. The event, held over three exciting days, encompassed engaging sessions, thought-provoking panels, inspiring speeches, and invaluable networking opportunities. Day 1: Virtual Kick-off
The summit commenced with an electrifying virtual kick-off featuring esteemed keynote speaker Ramona Wright. Ramona's powerful address resonated with the audience, igniting inspiration and motivation within young women seeking to make their mark in the world. Then, the workshop session delved into the importance of professionalism and how to stand out in a competitive world. Additionally, our University Members got to discover the possibilities of establishing and earning credit in collaboration with Chase Bank, further enhancing their educational journey.
Day 2: A Deep Dive with an Unexpected Turn
The second day of the Women of Color Creating Wealth Summit took an unexpected turn due to the recent air quality advisory in the area. However, with our unwavering commitment to our mission, Seeds of Fortune Inc. quickly adapted to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for all participants.
While originally planned as an in-person/hybrid event, the day seamlessly transitioned to a completely virtual format, allowing attendees to still partake in a series of enriching experiences from the comfort and safety of their own spaces. The virtual agenda kicked off with exciting announcements from the Seeds of Fortune Inc. team, keeping everyone informed about all upcoming initiatives and opportunities. Then, the mentorship roundtable provided a platform for high school participants to seek guidance and advice from current University Members and share experiences. Followed by the particularly engaging "Money Must Have" Game, hosted by Fidelity, which imparted valuable insights into financial literacy and investment strategies.
A highlight of the virtual sessions was the discussion on scholarships, featuring TikTok's GrowingWithGabby (Gabriella Carter) and JuJu the Scholarship Guru (Juliana "Juju" Wong). Their valuable expertise and experiences showcased the limitless possibilities for securing educational funding and highlighted the importance of pursuing higher education.
While we missed the in-person interactions, the virtual format allowed us to adapt and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. We are immensely grateful for the resilience and enthusiasm displayed by our attendees as we navigated these unexpected circumstances together.
As the day came to a close, participants had the opportunity to engage in a virtual closing networking session, reinforcing the connections they had made throughout the event.
Day 3: Seed to Bloom Ceremony
The summit culminated in a grand celebration at Chase Bank in Harlem, where the Seed to Bloom Awards ceremony took center stage. The evening commenced with a warm welcome address and reception, setting a jubilant tone for the festivities ahead. Participants rejoiced as the event highlighted outstanding achievements and success stories of trailblazing women of color.
The panel discussions brought together industry experts, high school students, and college grads to share their experiences, wisdom, and insights. Furthermore, the induction of new members into Seeds of Fortune Inc. was a momentous occasion, honoring their accomplishments and dedication to creating wealth and empowerment in their respective fields.
