2022 Seed Scholars Program in
Partnership with Yale Women in Economics 

We are a non profit organization that seeks to financially empower young women of color by helping them make better financial decisions starting with college. We help them to apply to college scholarships, teach financial literacy, and professional development skills.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO JOIN SEEDS OF FORTUNE INC. HS SCHOLARS PROGRAM?

Selected students will have access to​:

  • 10 month support program in college admission and financing (Meet once a month)

  • Mandatory 10 Day Summer College Prep Boot Camp

  • Research Project mentored by Yale Women in Economics and guest Yale professors

  • (4) Day Yale residential overnight and admission visit

  • Meet ambitious young women of color & join our 4 year college network

  • Learn to Build Scholarship & College application

  • Interview Prep

  • Business Plan Competition

  • Connect to top colleges & universities for admission HBCUs, Private and Public 

  • A Selected Participant is awarded $500 College Scholarship

  • All majors of interest welcomed

DO I QUALIFY?

  • Must be current HS Junior/HS Graduation Class of 2023

  • Attend a Public School or Catholic School

  • Identify as a Female Student of color (African-American, Asian-American, Latino, or Native American)

  • Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I SUBMIT MY APPLICATION ?

There are 3 rounds to our application process:

  • Round 1: Submit your application by deadline December 31, 2021, Early Applications will be given priority, Deadline II: January 31, 2022

  • Round 2: Online Interview 

  • Round 3: Selected Candidates Announced in late February 2022

FAQs:

Are there fees associated with being a Seed Scholar?
There is a $75 commitment fee for all Scholars. No other fees will be associated during your time as a scholar.

Is the in-person Boot Camp mandatory?
Yes, all Seed Scholars must be able to attend the Boot Camp in its entirety in order to be considered.

Is airfare provided to attend the in-person Boot Camp?
No, airfare will not be provided. However, bus transportation to and from NYC, as well as all room and board will be provided free of charge.

How long is the Boot Camp stay?
The in-person portion of the Seed Scholar Boot Camp will take place for 5 days and 4 nights.

Where will students be staying during the Boot Camp?
We will be staying at the New Haven Hotel at 229 George St, New Haven, Connecticut 06510

What if I can't access my official Junior Year transcript at this time?
Please submit all grade reports from Freshman and Sophomore Year, as well as a Fall Semester Junior year report card/progress report, if available.
